Acne in the summer: how to prevent heat from making your skin break out

Warm weather can challenge acne-prone skin

In warm weather, your skin often becomes shinier. You sweat more, wear SPF more frequently, and unknowingly touch your face more often. For acne-prone skin, this can be just enough to cause pores to clog more quickly.

That doesn't mean you should cleanse harder or treat more aggressively. On the contrary. Too much scrubbing or drying out can actually throw your skin further out of balance.

Keep it calm and consistent

  • Cleanse thoroughly in the evening to remove SPF, sweat, and dirt.
  • Prefer mild over abrasive products.
  • Opt for light hydration, even for oilier skin.
  • Use an SPF that feels comfortable and doesn't make your skin feel heavy.
  • Change towels and pillowcases more frequently if you sweat a lot.

Acne-prone skin needs structure. Don't try something new every day, but stick to a routine your skin can recognize. Boring is sometimes exactly the point here. A little skin rest, not a ringmaster with six jars at once.

Puur Diana advice: check out our collection for acne and impure skin. Combine cleansing, soothing, and protecting step by step rather than all at once.

If acne keeps returning or becomes painful and inflamed, personal advice is advisable. Especially with active acne, you want to prevent your skin from becoming irritated repeatedly.
